Upload a photo and the local AI cutout model detects the subject and builds a mask automatically — one click removes the background and exports a transparent PNG. Works for product shots, portrait and ID photos, and design assets.

The "Processing depth" slider controls how aggressive the cutout is: it defaults to 50, higher values clean up more (great for products on plain backgrounds) while lower values preserve fine detail such as hair strands and translucent objects. The resulting transparent image can be composited onto any new background.

Features

One-click auto cutout
No manual selection needed — the local AI model detects the subject and generates the mask.
Transparent PNG export
The background becomes fully transparent so you can drop the subject onto any backdrop or layout.
Adjustable depth (0–100)
Defaults to 50. Raise it for a cleaner cut, lower it to keep fine detail like hair.
Hair & semi-transparent edges
Handles flyaway hair, veils and glassware reasonably well.
Local AI, no upload
The model runs inside your browser — your photo never leaves the device.

How to use

  1. 1Click "Choose image" and upload a photo.
  2. 2Adjust "Processing depth" if needed (the default 50 suits most images).
  3. 3Click "Remove BG" and wait for local AI processing (the first run loads the model and takes a bit longer).
  4. 4Preview the result, then click "Download transparent PNG".

FAQ

How accurate is the cutout?

Images with clear subject/background contrast (product shots, portraits on plain backgrounds) come out well, usually in one pass. Hair, feathers and glass edges are harder — adjusting the processing depth helps.

Does it handle hair strands?

Yes. The cutout model preserves fairly fine edge structure, and lowering the depth a notch usually keeps hair more intact. Extremely flyaway hair may still retain a little background.

What format is exported?

Transparent PNG with the alpha channel fully preserved, ready for Photoshop, Figma, PowerPoint and similar tools.

Does it need to download a model?

The first run loads a local cutout model of about 4.7MB (the browser caches it afterwards). Once loaded, cutout runs fully offline and your photo is never uploaded.

How many images at once?

The current version handles one image at a time. Download, then click "Choose image" for the next one — no page reload needed.
