FAQ

Will compressing visibly hurt quality?

It depends on the quality level you pick. At 70–85 the difference is nearly invisible to the eye while the file drops to roughly 20–40% of the original. Start at the default 70 and raise it if needed.

Can I compress to an exact KB target?

Not automatically — there is no "target file size" field yet. Move the quality slider a couple of notches; the compressed size updates in real time so you can hit your target in two or three tries.

Can I compress multiple images at once?

The current version processes one image at a time. For batches, finish one file then click "Choose image" again — no page reload needed.

JPG, WebP or PNG — which should I use?

Choose WebP for the smallest file (supported by all modern browsers and most platforms), JPG for maximum compatibility, and PNG only when you need metadata stripped without any lossy re-encoding.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Compression runs locally in your browser; files never leave your device and nothing is stored on a server. That is also why there is no upload size limit.
